If you are planning to make a withdrawal from your RRSP under the Home Buyers' Plan you should consider delaying the withdrawal until 2010 if possible. By doing this you will be able to defer the initial repayment of the withdrawal by one year, until 2013.

RRSP Stats

Deadline: 60 days after the year end.

2009 tax year deadline: Monday, March 1, 2010.

RRSP contribution limits: 18% of earned income (minus an individual’s pension adjustments) up to the annual maximum.

Age limit: RRSP contribution room from 1991 and onwards can be carried forward. Total allowable carry forward contribution can be found on an individual’s most recent Notice of Assessment. Over Contribution: Individuals over 18 can maintain an over contribution of $2,000 in an RRSP at any time.

Penalty: The penalty for over contribution over $2,000 is 1% per month, starting at the end of the first month in which the limit has been exceeded.

The AGF Trust 2009/2010 RSP Loan Program officially kicks off on November 16, 2009. The program offers various loan types and fund investment choices – all at competitive interest rates. While AGF Trust has made some changes to adjust for current market conditions, the program continues to provide many of the same features and benefits as before.

The team recently co-sponsored along with one of the life insurance companies we represent ‘Industrial Alliance’ an event benefiting the University of Toronto Epilepsy Research Program called Body and Soul Tango Passion. The event took place successfully on Tuesday October 20, 2009 at the Jane Mallett Theatre.

The event was feast of sight and sound, spirited music of sizzling tangos, elegant arrangements, jazz fusion, sensual dance steps and lush mezzo-soprano.
